Nicholas (Nick) Joseph Webb is an illustrator, designer, and writer, whose work has been described as "sophisticated lowbrow."
Raised by Catholic German Shepherds in the hills of California's Central Coast, he built his formal art education at Cuesta College and CSU Northridge. His informal art education started with picture books and comic strips, and is an ongoing project.
He finds inspiration in mythology and how it syncretizes with contemporary life. Altars laden with cheap snacks, roadside memorials bearing CDs, fortune tellers advertising bargain discounts, are a source of endless delight.
He primarily works in ink and watercolor, and he's been doing more digital work ever since a Swiss man he met at a party gave him a weathered but faithful Wacom tablet.
He also nurses an interest in conservation and restoration, alongside a few other parlor tricks.
